I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Just yesterday Duke was a baby learning to drink water without getting his ears wet.

Now he is almost a year old. He is such a sweetheart. He doesn't snuggle but he follows me around and  loves to play. Jade is doing better at tolerating him. I think she realized he is going to be around for a while. In June he heads to Idaho for a hunting course. He will learn to point, flush, and retrieve upland game. While I am sad he will be gone for 2 months, I can't wait to see how much he learns.

 

Happy Birthday!

October 1st marked my 2nd birthday. According to the breed standard I am no longer a puppy. Within the next couple of months I will be getting my eyes and hips checked for certification. Here are a few pictures showing how much I have changed in the past 2 years.

I am a 17 month old Weimaraner. My day usually consists of running on the treadmill, eating and sleeping. Like most spoiled rotten dogs, I have many dislikes including the Fedex delivery man, sleeping in my own bed, and moose. There are also quite a few things I do enjoy. I LOVE running, sleeping, chasing anything that moves, peanut butter, and sneaking up behind people.

Currently I am preparing for bird training. Although the courses are difficult, I am a smart dog (sometimes too smart). I can open doors even when they are latched shut, break through entire sections of wood fencing (sorry dad), and wait patiently for Gavin to "bring me his food". I am a pro. when it comes to "counter surfing". My family loves me very much and we can't wait to experience the Alaskan summer.
